We designed this ultimate bolt-on trail & lake kit for the enthusiast that desires the balanced ability to reliably take those 300+ mile-per-day rides, with excellent throttle response and fuel economy, then hit the lake or drag race to show off the impressive power and speed potential. The tens of thousands of miles now accumulated on the trails and lakes since the 2008 riding season are true testaments to the trail-ability and reliability of this OEM like design.
This kit is NOT recommended for the novice snowmobiler due to the sheer acceleration and vision blurring speed that can be achieved.
ADJUSTABLE BOOST LEVEL FROM 4 TO 20 PSI, 190 TO 350 Horsepower. Comes preset to 4.5 PSI boost level for use with premium pump gas to maintain reliability of the stock engine on the trail. No internal engine disassembly or modifications are required.
200 BASE HP INTO STOCK MUFFLER. 220 HP (7 PSI) capable with use of an optional F.P.P. High Flow Stainless Trail or Race Muffler, which is the recommended maximum boost setting with the stock engine on premium pump gas. Boost levels beyond this require will require use of a higher octane rated fuel, 108 octane minimum being required to operate at maximum boost.
Note: This kit is 260 HP capable on premium pump gas when our optional custom designed turbo pistons are installed to lower the compression ratio.
We DO NOT recommend use of a head shim, or stacked head gaskets, to lower compression ratios in order to allow operating at higher boost / HP levels with lower octane fuel. In our experience, this compromises the desired trail sled characteristics, such as throttle response, fuel economy, and the overall engine efficiency that was extensively developed by the OEM.Therefore, we feel that the best way to accomplish lowering the compression ratio is to do it right the first time and install properly designed turbo pistons.
GENUINE GARRETT GT2560 SERIES BALL BEARING TURBOCHARGER that was methodically selected during R&D for an optimal size providing efficiency with nearly instant boost response. Internally waste gated for a tight clean fitment and simplicity. Optional stages available with larger turbocharger models and components for any craved HP and boost level.
PROPERLY SIZED AND LOCATED INTERCOOLER. By mounting our intercooler perpendicular and centered to the air flow into the nose of the sled, without obstruction, this maximizes the amount of cooling air passing through the core and results in more heat being removed from the charge air entering the engine compared to the competition. This is one of the largest contributors to providing increased reliability with a higher horsepower output.
An optional Radiator Relocation Kit is available for models with existing factory equipped radiators.
F.P.P.'S PROVEN FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM that compliments the factory ECU programming for precise EFI control at all altitudes, temperatures, and boost levels. Simple and easy to use self contained design comes pre-programmed, requires no additional computer for initial setup. The settings we provide require no additional tuning or modifications after installation.
LARGE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL SYSTEM UPGRADE to support the larger power increase while still utilizing the stock fuel injectors to maintain outstanding idle quality, trail-ability, and fuel economy.
UTILIZES THE STOCK PLASTIC INTAKE MANIFOLD. In our abusive trail & lake R&D testing we have been unable to compromise the integrity of the stock intake during short intervals of high boost levels exceeding 20 psi. However, we do recommend upgrading to our optional custom aluminum intake manifold for operation at boost levels of 18 psi and above, or for deep powder mountain riders experiencing maximum load and WOT for extended periods of a minute or more.
ENGINEERED TO UTILIZE THE STOCK MUFFLER which results in QUIETER THAN STOCK decibel level exhaust sound for all day trail use.
HIGH QUALITY STAINLESS STEEL CHARGE TUBE AND EXHAUST COMPONENTS to provide a long trouble free life.
BLOW-OFF VALVE that is properly sized and strategically located to provide efficiency and improved ON-OFF then BACK-ON AGAIN throttle response.
ELECTRONIC OIL SCAVENGE PUMP to positively return oil from the turbocharger back to the engine, instead of a gravity drain like the competition. We elected to ensure 100% of the time that no oil is lost through the turbo seals, and into the charge tubes or exhaust causing smoking, due to oil return backup that can be induced by operating the sled at extreme angles, especially riding down hill. Comes pre-wired and with all the required mounting hardware.
COMPLIMENTARY BOOST GAUGE. Comes standard in kit pre-wired with mounting pod and all required hardware. We feel this is not an option, as this allows the customer to verify the kit is operating safely within the design intended boost levels after installation.
