History

Snowmobile racing is in the Fuller family blood line. Justin’s father, Rich Fuller, raced snowmobiles in the early 70’s as an independent in the USSA Eastern Circuit under #1630E, accruing significant wins over those seasons.

Growing up on a farm in Western New York, he struggled to find time away but managed to start out in the 1972 Super Mod 1 class on a ’72 Polaris 295 TX Starfire Racer. In 1973 Rich progressed to racing in both the Super Mod 1 & 2 classes.

about-2

Following in 1974, Rich campaigned a ’74 Sno Jet Thunderjet 440 Racer in the Super Mod 3 classes. The highlight of that season with this machine was the accomplishment of being the only non-factory rider to make the feature race at the Eastern Championship in Syracuse NY that year.

about3

Rich returned to the Eastern Circuit in 1975 to race in the Super Mod 2 class on a 340 Speedway and the Super Mod 4 class on a 650 Speedway.

Again, Rich was the only non-factory rider to make it to the 650 final in the Eastern Championship. An additional accomplishment was Rich and his team mate, Gerry Kaczanowski #515X, were the only Speedway Team to make it to the World Series that year.

After settling down with his wife, Barb, and starting a family, Rich stopped actively chasing the Circuit but continued to be involved with snowmobile drag racing at a local level. This is where Justin became exposed to the snowmobile racing scene as a child, with racing in his blood he grew up around the smell of horsepower and inheriting the dedication to win.

Justin’s most memorable and most influential experience was when he was 13 years old, his father pulled him out of school to take him with him to dyno test a racing snowmobile at the famous C&H Dyno, aka: Dynotech.
Still today, Rich remains an integral part of the team at FPP by lending a much appreciated helping hand at the shop when needed or being a great resource of history in the industry.

When Justin finally turned old enough to race at 16, he entered his very first snowmobile grass drag race at the 1992 Pennsylvania State Championship. He entered the 440 Mod class on a borrowed Polaris and proceeded to win 1st place. The winning snow-ball had started rolling…

In 1993 he and his father built a Polaris Centurion Pro Stock 500 #18 for Justin to race. He proceeded to dominate by winning 44 of the 46 PRO classes he had entered, ending the grass racing season with a win at the New York State Championship in Marilla NY.

about5

Justin continued to dominate the grass drag circuit through the 1994 and 1995 seasons with that PS500 Centurion, which still remains in the FPP collection today.

For the 1993-1994 winter racing season, Justin followed in his father’s footsteps and started racing PRO oval on a ’75 Polaris TX Starfire Racer, once again winning his first race ever entered. To maintain that racing momentum, Justin and his father subsequently built a Polaris Indy with a 500 engine for Justin to compete in the Mod 3 class, resulting in more success.

After attending SUNY College for Mechanical Engineering Technology, specializing in Internal Combustion Engines Engineering Technologies, and his amassed racing portfolio presented Justin with an offer to work for his very own snowmobile racing idol, Tim Bender, at the famous Yamaha Factory supported Bender Racing in 1995. He started out sweeping floors but quickly proved himself in the porting room.

about9

Throwing his hat into the ring of snow cross racing for the first time ever, Justin once again stunned everyone with a win at the 1996 Canadian Nationals on a Polaris 440 XCR. His photo made the cover of a Canadian snowmobile racing magazine.

about10

At Bender Racing in the fall of 1997, Justin achieved the lead R&D role on Yamaha’s new SRX for trail and race engine development. He also took charge of the race sled development and providing customer race team support at the tracks. This included several wins at the big grand daddy of all snowmobile grass drag racing events, Hay Days in MN.

about11

In 1998, Bender Racing transferred ownership to Terry and Debbie Paine. Justin stayed on and continued as engine and race shop manager, developing the ever-popular 800 SX and 835 SRX big bores.

about12

The whirl wind really picked up with Justin’s turbo charging development, catapulting Terry and Bender Racing to the front of the industry on Sept 28th, 2002 with the unveiling of the first running Turbo Yamaha RX-1 in North America at the F&S Yamaha & Marine open house in Spring Grove PA.

That same fall, this same rear mount turbo sled proceeded to win the Dynotech Best Engineered Award and the Quiet Giant Award in the Mountain Motor Class at the 7th Annual American Snowmobiler Trail Mod Invitational in Woodgate NY.

about13

Pushing the envelope, Justin helped Bender Racing once again clinch the Dynotech Research snowmobile horsepower record at 358HP on November 19th, 2003 with their Yamaha RX-1 Stage 3 rear mount turbo.

Terry and Justin then came back to Dynotech August 18th, 2005 to set the horsepower record once again with 415HP on a Bender Racing customer’s Yamaha RX-1 Stage 3 rear mount turbo drag sled.

In October of 2006, as Terry made a hard decision to sell off Bender Racing, Justin also made the decision to start his own business under Full Power Performance LLC. In doing this, he filled a void for the loyal following of performance and racing customers while retaining them with his reputation and knowledge. He continued to build racing engines for national and international customers, which are still winning races today. In addition, Justin was sought out by his idol, Tim Bender, for his proven and now renown porting skills to perform the cylinder and case porting for all the Hentges Polaris Factory Snocross Team engines. This continued for several years until ISOC the rules changed, which eliminated motor modifications.

During this time, he focused on developing and producing his own cutting edge pump-gas friendly trail turbo kits and performance parts for various models.

Feeding off his addiction to HP with an analytical mindset that never quits, Justin developed a Full Power Performance Yamaha RX-1 Stage 4 1000cc rear mount turbo for a drag racing customer, which stunningly eclipsed the Dynotech Research DTR snowmobile horsepower record on March 20th, 2007 with 443HP.

about14

Setting the stage in the fall of 2008, FPP developed the first-to-market pump gas trail turbo kit for the Skidoo XR 1200 4-TEC, which was distributed and sold in conjunction with CJ Motorsports. When unleashed at the 2008 Amsnow/Dynotech Adirondack Aftermarket Trail Mod Shootout, the FPP & CJ Motorsports Renegade 1200 Trail Turbo shocked the world with winning the fastest ET and quietest awards in the Mountain Motor class. This product today remains the best selling, most talked about product yet to date.

The following season Justin promptly followed up with a Stage 2 kit for a more HP option, more muffler options, custom designed turbo pistons, and head gasket just to name a few.

Today, Full Power Performance continues to provide customers with exciting products and services for both 2-stroke and 4-stroke snowmobiles and ATV’s. Their ever expanding portfolio of trail turbo kits continue to win awards and stay in the forefront of the aftermarket.
